The Cedar Lake-Popp's Ferry intersection will turn into a four-way stop for a couple of hours after midnight tonight while contractors re-locate the control box for the traffic signals at the intersection.
Temporary Stop signs will be placed at the site shortly before work begins, and the traffic signals will be inoperative while work is underway.
The work is part of the widening effort of Popp's Ferry Road east of Cedar Lake Road. Traffic signals at the intersection will be back in full operation within a couple of hours.
City seeks funding requests from agencies
Though city funding may not be available, Biloxi municipal leaders want to be aware of the funding needs of social-service agencies and other organizations that serve Biloxi residents.
Representatives of groups and organizations have until Oct. 9 to submit a completed form in order to have a chance of being included in the FY 2016 budget. The two-page forms should be turned in to Clerk of Council Lucy Brashier, whose office is off the lobby of the first floor of City Hall. The forms can be emailed to Brashier at email@example.com.
"Many organizations do great work in Biloxi," the form reads, "however, the availability of funds is a major factor in determining whether requests are fully funded, partially funded or not funded at all."
